Her legendPersonality:Aloof, headstrong, stubborn, self-assured, coolheaded. Words that describe the renowned Greek huntress, Atalante the Chaste Huntress. Many would find Atalante to be stand-offish at best, and extremely spiteful against someone she hates at worst. And, well, part of those still hold true even in this new incarnation. While she still carries her tough frosty attitude around, her personality has become slightly warmer than how she was first introduced in Fate/Apocrypha, all thanks to the last moment she had with Achilles. It's not impossible for her to engage in casual talk and she's so not above bursting into laughter if she finds something humorous.
But before her somewhat warmed-up incarnation in Fate/Grand Oder, she was fundamentally a cold person before.
Abandoned by her father, King Arcadia, in the wild during infancy and raised by bears, it wouldn't be a surprise that Atalante adopts the cold perspective and mindset of a wild animal. She shares the same strong realist view on life and death as a wild animal. Stealing food from others is a natural action in order to survive. Those who were weak to survive are shown no mercy. She's willing to abandon her old Master after she'd found out that he's poisoned thanks to falling to the scheme of Amakusa Shirou and explained that she's no remorse for a weak Master. Since childhood, she lives by the savage rules of the wild-- the strong eat the weak. Neither pity nor mercy would be shown to anyone living in the harsh reality of the world. With children being a hard exception to the rules, of course.
For Atalante, children are good and pure. She loves all children, prefers their company, and dislikes those who would hurt them. This strong love she has for them stems from the mercy she received from the goddess, Artemis, when she was abandoned as a baby. She desires for a world where every child can be saved and raised with love and care-- her wish for the Holy grail. So that they won't have to suffer the same despair she went through in her childhood and without unconditional love. This love of hers is both her greatest trait and greatest flaw. While her wish is undoubtedly pure, her stubborn and obsessive nature to protect all children had once driven her with rage and sent her into madness out of grief. When Jeanne D'Arc purified the spirits of vengeful children of Jack the Ripper, Atalante was quick to label her as a 'fake saint', called her evil, and refused to listen to reasons, despite that they're beyond saving and died long ago. It's an affront to her wish after all, and blaming Jeanne was how she copes with it.
In the end, she's shown to be ashamed of giving in to her rage due to her protective nature towards children. She knows, more than anyone, that her own dream is close to unattainable. But she still challenged that. She's still devoted and holds it near to her heart, willing to chase after it for all of eternity. She still hasn't completely gotten over her hate for Jeanne, but that's something she could keep herself at bay.
Atalante doesn't usually express it, but she has a distrust of men and an aversion to a relationship. This is due to her legend and her chastity vow. Despite her feats and accomplishments as a huntress, Atalante received constant belittlements and harassments from her male peers simply because of her gender. Her own father abandoned her because she was a girl, and later on, demanded her to be married for his own ego-boosting rather than acknowledged her hunting prowess. And she found herself trapped in a half-forced loveless marriage after she was tricked into picking up an irresistible golden apple and lost a footrace against Hippomenes (said footrace is a competition where any men who wish to wed her would have to beat her in a race. Those who lost would have to forfeit their life.) and she got turned into a lion as punishment for that. All in all, her legend-- her tragic past has given her ample reason distrust of men. That said, that doesn't mean she would completely shun men away. They are a few men that she respects: Peleus, Meleager, and Achilles. Those who are courteous and modest would get some amount of respect out of her.
Towards the end, the one person who melted her ice-cold persona was Achilles. He fought her when she's gone on a madness-fueled rampage in order to save her from going down this path full of hatred. One trek to madness and a lance pierced through her stomach later, she was relieved of her madness, her sanity brought back, and showed him her vulnerable side. She gave him her actual opinion about her own dream and lamented on what she should've done about her impossible dream instead of clinging into all the time before she dies with a relieved smile.
Deep down she yearned for unconditional love from her parents, despite how she was treated as an infant. She wanted to know true love without any strings attached to honor, lust for power, or carnal desire. Unfortunately, she's from Ancient Greece. Woman emancipation isn't a thing. And after everything that went down in her legend, she's so soured of the concept to a point she never wanted to mention to being loved. She's accepted that she will never truly be loved. Which we come back to her wish for all children to be loved. If she can't wish for her own happiness, she can definitely wish it for children instead. All that matters to her now is for children to know what she never experienced and to never met the despair she experienced.
Not once was she loved nor her dream supported before Achilles. That's why she asked her Master to not laugh at her wish.
Abilities:Servant - As a servant, Atalante possesses capabilities far stronger than the average human. While her strength and endurance are not that impressive compared to other servants, only being at D and E rank respectively, her strength is great and she's able to survive a hit that would normally kill a man. As an Archer, Atalante is extremely skilled with the bow and arrow. She possesses two Noble Phantasms, but only one has any practical use and one she would willingly use.
Huntress - A skilled peerless hunter. Atalante has knowledge in hunting and restraining wild beasts, able to easily traverse through the forest by leaping between branches, and capable of disappearing from sight while in the forest as if she becomes one with it.
Heightened senses - Atalante is more animal than she is human. She possesses senses far greater than even a servant, able to sense enemies far away than her fellow Servants with her great sense of smell. Her great sight allows her to pinpoint her target's exact location even in conditions with near zero visibility at night and from an extreme distance in a dense and thick forest and able to hit them still with supreme precision.
Tauropolos, The Celestial Bow - A bow granted to her by the goddess Artemis. Arrows fired by this bow can pierce through anything and, drawn at its limit, will be able to fire a purely physical attack exceeding A-rank in power.
Beyond Arcadia A - Allows Atalante to quickly traverse over the field while jumping over all obstacles with ease. A team-wide buff that boosts their agility.
Aesthetics of the Last Spurt C - A skill that derives from her letting her opponents have a head start in footraces that she ultimately won. Atalante is able to anticipate an enemy by letting them take the initiative and then confirming their action. Makes her more likely to critical hit, gameplay speaking.
Calydonian Hunt A - Briefly allows her to evade enemies attacks while increasing her likelihood to use her Noble Phantasm.
Passive skill: Magic Resistance D - A skill that protects the user against magical effects. At her rank, Atalante is able to cancels single-action skills.
Passive skill: Independent Action A - Able to act independently without a Master. At a high rank, it's possible for Atalante to stay in the world for extended periods of time, up to a week, without establishing a contract.
Noble Phantasm -
Phoebus Catastrophe: Complaint Message on the Arrow - An Anti-army Noble Phantasm (AoE). Nocking two arrows, Atalante aims them at the sky before firing them with great strength, sending a complaint message to the Sun God Apollo and Moon Goddess Artemis. Shortly after, a faint light fills the sky before arrows of light rains down onto her enemies.
"A torrential rain under the name of catastrophe".
Plainly speaking, she fires two arrows up in the sky and then a barrage of arrows rains down her enemies.
Noble Phantasm -
Agrius Metamorphosis: Boar of Divine Punishment - By wearing the pelt of the Calydonian Boar, she transforms into
an edgy furry a
Monstrous Human. While in this form, she becomes more wrathful and hateful. All her stats except Luck are boosted and her class change to the Berserker class. She even possesses abilities similar to a B rank Mad Enhancement skill called Beast Shape B. She is impossible to be reasoned with while in this form, but by removing the pelt, she reverts back to her Archer class. This is a Noble Phantasm she detests using.
Alignment: Peromei. Hope and despair was what built her character. She experienced despair when she was abandoned in the forest and hopes for children around the world to be saved and loved without experiencing what she went through as a child.

⌈ SAMPLE SECTION ⌉General Sample: Test Drive LinkEmotion Sample:[Another day, another time to explore Verens. Since her arrival, Atalante has taken to exploring the city just to get accustomed to the foreign land. The main streets are traveled and crowded, but there's another method of travel she vastly prefers- rooftops. She leaps from one roof to the next, landing with light steps. When she's in another district, she stops and stands at the edge of a roof, overlooking the city for a little bit. Then, her eyes look up to the sky. The absence of the halo of light looming above brings ease to the Archer's stiff body. A sign of normality in the world. Quiet and peaceful.
Her ears suddenly flick. Picking up the sound of children playing, she turns her gaze away from the sky and down to the street. There, she sees a group of children happily playing together in a round of tag without a care in the world.
A soft smile finds its way into her lips as she watches them from a distance. She can't help it. She recognizes the warmth that is now surrounding her, and then the sunflowers growing and blooming near her feet.
Right, these emotional reactions are something else she would need to get accustomed to. How silly this world's magical nature is.
She lingers for a moment longer, but she's done with her exploration for today and decides to go back to her Master. She leaps to the next rooftop, leaving a trail of sunflowers fluttering down in her path.]Questions: Nah
